Whiz Comics #23 (Fawcett Comics, Oct. 1941) is notable for featuring the debut of a character named Ibis the Invincible. Created by writer Bill Parker and artist C.C. Beck, Ibis was a magician who possessed a magical amulet that granted him various powers, including super strength, flight, and the ability to cast spells.
